Tonje Sagstuen appointed as permanent CEO of Norsk Tipping

Norsk Tipping has announced that Tonje Sagstuen will assume the role of CEO on a permanent basis, having previously been the Acting CEO since September. 

Effective 1 September, Sagstuen became Acting CEO after Thor Gjermund Eriksen had stepped down from the position after less than a year in the role. 

Sagstuen has been part of Norsk Tipping’s management team since 2014, also holding the role of Deputy CEO for the past five years, and was director of the Department of Accountability, Society and Communication until her appointment as Acting CEO. 

On top of the time she has been with the company, Sagstuen is also an Assistant Professor and has a Master’s Degree in Multimedia Management from BI Norwegian Business School; prior to joining Norsk Tipping,Table games she was the Editor-In-Chief of Oppland Arbeiderblad, a newspaper based in Gjøvik, Norway. 

Chairman of the Board Sylvia Brustad said: "Today I am pleased to present Tonje Sagstuen as the new CEO of Norsk Tipping. With her, Norsk Tipping gets a skilled and experienced leader who knows the company and the employees very well. 

“The Board has appreciated the job Sagstuen has done as Acting CEO and is pleased that she has accepted the position on a permanent basis. We are convinced Sagstuen is the right person to lead Norsk Tipping forward.” 

Sagstuen added: "I am grateful for the trust the Board has placed in me and humbled by the responsibility I have been given. Norsk Tipping is a large company that plays an important role for the entire Norway, and I look forward to leading the work on our important social mission going forward.”
